Creation Worships God
Reading these verses was so delightful. While some commentators believe that the references to nature are poetic, I’m not altogether convinced.
Let’s flash to the back of the bible…to Revelation 5:13, where the four living creatures are joined by the 24 elders, who are then surrounded by angels, thousands upon thousand, ten thousand times ten thousand. And after they’ve all taken their turns at worship, we read, “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
Wow! EVERY Creature! That’s not just humans. And lest there be any doubt that this means all things, we see in this verse the command elaborated to encompass everything in the heavens (which is not where humans are readily found) and on the seas, and in the seas. This encompasses all things and everything. Everything made owes its existence to the Creator and has its being because of Him and is being held together by Him and the day will come when, again and again, all things created will give him praise and honor and glory and power.
